Christmas Trees

(Have You hugged a Tree Farmer, lately)

Why buy a Real Tree?  Real trees are a renewable resource!!   For every tree that is harvested 2 or more or planted in their place at farms across the U.S.A.

Real Trees are Safe!

Make sure trees are green and not dried out.  Make a fresh cut on stump of tree prior to putting into stand.  Keep your fresh cut tree in a stand with water at all times.  Use good lighting with no damaged light sets.  Inspect before installing on tree.  Do not overload light circuits.

Before going away from home or retiring for the evening unplug Christmas Tree Lighting!

While trees are growing at a Farm they provide:

Habitat for wildlife! (Roosting, nesting and nesting material for birds, cover for deer, birds and other wildlife

Provides oxygen!

After trees are harvested from a Farm  they provide:

Recyclable! (Can be chipped up for mulch for all Landscapes)

Fish Habitat !  (For ponds ,marshes and all other bodies of water)

Soil erosion for open ditches, beaches, marshes and other areas where erosion can occur.

CHRISTMAS TREE CARE AND SAFETY

*Real trees need water, just like a fresh bouquet of flowers.

* When you bring the tree home, make a fresh cut one-quarter inch or more above the original cut until you reach fresh wood. This removes the sap seal which prevents the tree from absorbing water.

* Immediately place the tree in a LARGE container of fresh water. Trees are very thirsty. A Christmas tree may drink one gallon or more of fresh water per day for the first few days, then decrease their intake.

* Check the water supply daily and replenish as needed.

* Until ready to decorate, keep the Christmas tree outdoors, protected from the wind and sun (always in water)!

* In the house, place the tree away from fireplaces and other heat sources.

* Carefully check all electric light and connections before decorating the tree and home. Do not use lights with worn or frayed cords and NEVER use lighted candles.

* Be sure to turn off all decorations before retiring at night and at any time you leave home.
